Delete Your Account.

You can delete your Hobbiest account, and the personal information associated with it, at any time. This page meets Apple's and Google's requirements for an account-deletion mechanism reachable from a public URL without signing in.

The Fastest Way.

If you have the Hobbiest app installed, the quickest path is from inside the app:

• Open the Hobbiest app
• Tap your Profile tab
• Open Settings → Account → Delete Account
• Confirm. Deletion begins immediately.

This route is preferred because it verifies your identity automatically through your active session. The form below is for users who can't access the app — for example, if you've deleted it, lost access to the device, or never finished sign-up.

What Gets Deleted.

• Your profile, photos, bio, hobby selections, and vibes
• Your matches, conversations, and message history
• Your calendar availability and saved preferences
• Your AskGuru questions, answers, and saved threads
• Your Closet Goals listings (if any) and saved items
• Your Mental Fuel survey responses and progress
• Your subscription record (where we hold it; the App Store or Google Play hold their own copies — see below)

What We Keep (and Why).

A small set of records is retained for limited time periods even after account deletion, only as required to meet a specific obligation:

• Transaction records and tax records for as long as required by law (typically up to 7 years);
• Trust & Safety records related to safety reports, blocked-user signals, or law-enforcement requests, for as long as needed to keep the community safe;
• Backup snapshots for up to 90 days, after which deleted records are overwritten in the normal course of business;
• Anonymized or aggregated data that no longer identifies you may be retained indefinitely.

What This Doesn't Cover.

Account deletion at hobbiest.ai does not:

• Cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription — those are billed by Apple and Google, and you must cancel them in your device's subscription settings (iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions · Android: Play Store → Subscriptions). We'll honor any unused portion of a paid period;
• Delete copies of your data held by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies;
• Erase messages, screenshots, or content other Users may have saved on their own devices.

How Long Does It Take?

Deletion requests submitted via the in-app flow take effect immediately for visible content (your profile disappears from Discover, Your People, and AskGuru). Full backend deletion completes within 30 days, except for the limited retention categories above. Web-form requests submitted below are acknowledged within 72 hours and processed within 30 days once we verify the request.

Change Your Mind?

You have a 7-day grace period after submitting a deletion request. During that time you can cancel by replying to the acknowledgment email we send. After 7 days the deletion is final and cannot be reversed.
